NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (Blended)

Service Description

This is the blended version of the Basics of Pistol Shooting Course. This course is conducted in two phases. Phase 1 is online and Phase 2 is instructor led/hands on training. *THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR PHASE 2, YOU MUST COMPLETE PHASE 1 THEN RETURN HERE FOR PHASE 2 (READ BELOW FOR PHASE 1 INFO) Phase 1 is conducted online via a course available through the NRA website. This is a self-paced e-learning course that culminates with an online exam. Phase 1 course topics include: gun safety rules, types of pistols, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. The fee for the Phase 1 online training is $60 and paid directly to the NRA. PLEASE COMPLETE WITHIN TIME WINDOW, THE FEE PAID TO THE NRA IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Once you have completed Phase 1, Phase 2 may be completed with Up The Creek Arms. Return here and register. You will receive one-on-one, hands on instruction on range protocols, proper handling, loading & unloading procedures, the fundamentals of pistol shooting, shooting positions, clearing pistol stoppages, and complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on a private range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Since Phase 2 is one-on-one and objective based, this portion of the course is charged by the hour at a rate of $50/hr. Most students are able to complete this portion of the course in 2 to 3 hours and the charged rate also covers range/facilities fees. Upon requesting your session, we will email an invoice for the minimum amount of $100 for two hours, please keep in mind you may owe more upon completion if the 2 hours is exceeded. Students are welcome to use their own pistol, ammunition (must be manufacturer loaded, FMJ in brass casing - minimum of 100 rounds) and eyes and hearing protection for the range qualification. However, if you do not have these, gun rental ($10), ammunition ($40 per 100 rounds), and eye/ear protection rental ($5, ballistic glasses and electronic muffs) will be available for use as needed per student and can be paid for the day of instruction. *IF YOU DON'T SEE A TIME THAT WORKS FOR YOU IN OUR SCHEDULE, PLEASE REACH OUT TO US!
